1st Place - Matt Buckman - Oahu
2nd Place - Mike Spalding - Maui
3rd Place - Tim Woods, Big Island
4th Place - Hui Nalu - Oahu

Sunday - June 5 - HSCA Race Ka’anapali Beach to Kailua, Oahu

1st Place - Marvin Otsugi - Kauai
2nd Place - Mike Kincaid - Oahu
3rd Place - Mike Spalding - Maui
4th Place - Hui Nalu - Oahu
July 30 Na Holo Kai Sailing Canoe Race - Haleiwa, Oahu to Poipu, Kauai

19th annual Na Holo Kai
The winds were approx 15-20 the entire way, Matt Buckman from Oahu and Marvin Otsuji from Kauai battled for first place for the first 7 hours, but Marvin's crew from Kauai got a second wind and won the race by nearly 4 minutes. Marvin is the only HSCA member who has competed in all 19 Na Holo Kai's and has won more Na Holo Kai's then ANY Captain.

August 27 Kendall Pacific Classic - Kalapaki, Kauai to Waimea, Kauai
4th annual Kendall Pacific Classic
The race from Kalapaki Beach to Waiamea Plantation Cottages along Kauai’s south shore marks the end of the 2005 Hawaiian Sailing Canoe Association’s racing season, sponsored this year by the Kaanapali Beach Resort Association, “where the world comes to play.”

2nd - Jason Dameron - Kauai
3rd -Cappy Sheely - Maui
4th - Matt Buckman - Oahu

2nd -Bob Kaden - Kauai (2nd place came in 30 minutes behind 1st!)

Recipients of 2005 " Mark Brewer perpetuation" award: Marvin Otsuji and Matt Buckman. This award is given to the member who best perpetuated the mission statement of the HSCA "to learn revive, educate and practice the ancient Hawaiian skills and values as it relates to the Hawaiian sailing canoe and it's culture."
